A new craze is sweeping Kirklees as a dodgeball society is being created for students in the area which aims to encourage students to be more active.

Dodgeball is an American sport in which two teams attempt to eliminate all the members of the opposing team by throwing foam balls at them. It can be played almost anywhere by both sexes, is easy to learn and inexpensive to play.

The new society will welcome both university and college students and will conclude with a grand tournament later in the year, with students displaying their new talents in a bid to become Kirklees’ ultimate team.

The events, competitions and tournaments will be promoted across a range of internet communities, enabling Kirklees students to join Facebook groups and upload team videos to YouTube; this will allow students to get involved, organise games and get in touch with one another.
